Daily Leadership Thought #55 – Fitness Matters!

Leadership requires you to be at the top of your game physically, emotionally and intellectually.   If you want to operate at a high level for any extended period of time you need to be mindful of this fact.  The bottom line is that physically fit people are better disciplined and have more energy and resilience.  Emotionally strong people can navigate the ups and downs of interpersonal relationships and their external environment better than others who have less emotional depth.  Finally, people who continually invest in their own brainpower make better decisions and are more able to identify and solve the tough challenges that anyone in business must confront on a regular basis.  If you want to operate at a high level and get consistently good results, the question you need to ask yourself each and every day is “what am I doing to build and maintain my fitness in these three areas?”

    • They are certainly mutually interdependent
