Song of the Day: “In The Wee Small Hours” by Chris Botti and Sting

Every once in awhile you come across an artist that truly inspires you.  Chris Botti is that kind of talent.  Not since Miles Davis have I listened to a jazz trumpeter so much.  I never get tired of his playing.  There are many other people who agree with me including some of the top talent in popular music today: Sting, John Mayer, and Steven Tyler (just to name a few) who have all performed with him.  I’ve been fortunate to seen him live and it is even better than the recorded versions.  It is also obvious he loves what he is doing.

Good music makes you feel something.  Excellent music takes you to a different place altogether.  It not only sets the mood but also allows you to escape deep within your soul.  It has the potential to tap into what can only be described as spiritual connection.  When I listen to Chris play I can close my eyes and escape to somewhere else.  He is that good!  I’ve chosen the song “In The Wee Small Hours Of The Morning made famous by Frank Sinatra that Chris and Sting clearly make their own (no small feat).
