Song of the Day: “Get Back” by The Beatles

I just finished watching a Beatles tribute band that was amazing.  It was a fun way to spend a Sunday night.  What continues to impress me is how the music still crosses generations.  There were people dancing and singing along in their 60s and people right beside side them in their 20s.   There were even small children who managed to dance all night long and with a big smile on their face. I doubt there will ever be another band like the Beatles.   Their songwriting talent and musical ability is unmatched.  What makes it even more impressive is that much of what they did was done for the first time by them.  It was literally unchartered musical territory.

I chose the songGet Back because it was the last time they officially played together.  In essence, it was the end of an era.   To quote George Harrison, “All Things Must Pass” and the phenomenon that was The Beatles inevitably had to come to an end, but not before they changed the landscape of modern music. We all owe them a big “Thank you!”
